Houston ISD recognizes custodians and plant operators
Houston Independent School District recently recognized custodians and plant operators for their vital work in keeping campuses safe and running smoothly.
Elementary and secondary custodians and plant operators of the year were named at a special ceremony.
The following were recognized: Maria Fuentes, elementary custodian of the year from De Zavala Elementary School; Hortencia Garcia, secondary custodian of the year from Waltrip High School; Marili Vaquiz, elementary plant operator of the year from Burrus Elementary School; and Gary Vaugh, secondary plant operator of the year from Welch Middle School.
Honorable mentions were given to custodians Vickie Newton from T.H. Rogers Middle School and Vilma Villatoro from Red Elementary School, and plant operators Maria Cerda from J.P. Henderson Elementary, Jerry Johnson from Waltrip High and Connie Broussard from McNamara Elementary.
